How Dare You?
Oh, a Corporate Woman dressed
in all formal,
Heels all spiked and a bag
oh-so-flashy;
Wonder what happened to
her child’s science journal,
Does she even care when
the money minted is so splashy?
Her efficiency skills
appear almost paranormal,
But the time she spends
with her family is just trashy.
Does she even know what
it is to be a wife or a daughter-in-law,
Ms. MNC does have many
a flaw!
Oh, yeah! She’s JUST a
stay-at-home Mom,
With an army of support
staff at her command;
Tying her messy bun
with aplomb,
Filling in tirelessly
for many a demand;
She has not an iota of qualm,
About her curry being spicy
or bland.
We wonder why she is
wasting her education,
Ms. Luxury certainly
has a life of vacation.
She leaves her kids at
the day care,
She helicopters her munchkins
way too much;
She has no time to
spare,
She has no job at home,
as such.
She is hardly ever seen
wearing anything ethnic or decent,
She is always draped in
a sari;
She always has work as her
precedent,
We wonder why she is
always in a hurry!
She eats at the café,
half of the time,
She hardly ever steps
out for dinner;
Her house has a layer
of grime,
Can her house be any
more cleaner?
She is literally on a
roller-coaster,
Her life has become
stagnant;
Her friends are the microwave
and toaster,
She spends hours gossiping,
all just malignant.
A single mom or a
single child too posh?
Speaking in English or
comfortable in her native tongue;
Going for Zumba or getting
skinny with her diet nosh,
Shopping for only local
or branded seems too far-flung?
Whatever she does, she
is being judged,
She is just being turning
into a raging storm;
And not just by men, but
mostly by other women she is smudged,
Who gets to decide what
is the norm?
How dare you?
Just let her be.
Don’t let her
impatience stew,
She also is, after all,
born free.
